Terms & Conditions — Refined Home Remodeling
Last updated: January 2026. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Refined Home Remodeling website and the renovation, remodeling, and related services we provide. By submitting a booking request, contacting us, or signing a contract, you agree to these terms.
1. Services
Refined Home Remodeling provides home renovation, remodeling, and related services including but not limited to: interior and exterior remodeling, bathroom renovation, home and fire security installation, roofing, solar and energy installation, floor installation, and door and window installation. Specific scope, pricing, and schedule for each engagement are defined in a separate written contract signed by both parties.
2. Estimates & Proposals
Initial site surveys and written measurement reports are provided at no charge. Fixed-price proposals are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Proposals are based on conditions observed during the site survey; concealed conditions not visible at survey may result in a written change order with revised pricing and schedule.
3. Contracts & Change Orders
All work is governed by a written contract specifying scope, materials, schedule, payment milestones, and warranty terms. Any change to scope must be documented in a written change order signed by both parties before the changed work begins. Verbal requests or instructions do not constitute authorized changes.
4. Payment Terms
Payment milestones are defined in each contract. A typical schedule is 10% at signing, 25% at demolition completion, 30% at rough-in, 25% at finish, and 10% at final walkthrough after punch list closure. Final payment is due upon delivery of the certificate of occupancy and closed permit. Late payments may incur interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by law.
5. Permits & Inspections
Refined Home Remodeling pulls all required permits and schedules all inspections. The client agrees to provide reasonable site access for inspectors and to be available for final walkthrough. Permit fees are included in the contract price unless explicitly stated otherwise.
6. Warranties
We provide a ten (10) year workmanship warranty on structural and finish work, five (5) years on mechanical, plumbing, and electrical labor, and pass through manufacturer warranties on appliances, fixtures, and materials. Warranties do not cover damage from normal wear, misuse, neglect, acts of God, or modifications by third parties. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to info@refinedhomeremodeling.info.
7. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate property information and disclose known defects, hazards, or code violations.
- Provide reasonable site access during agreed working hours.
- Notify us in writing of any pre-existing conditions that may affect work.
- Obtain HOA, historical, or other approvals not assigned to us in the contract.
- Make timely payments per the contract schedule.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Refined Home Remodeling's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the contract price for the specific project giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. This limitation does not apply to damages caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
9. Cancellation & Termination
Either party may terminate a contract for cause if the other party materially breaches the contract and fails to cure the breach within fifteen (15) days of written notice. If the client cancels after work has begun, the client is responsible for work completed, materials ordered, and a reasonable termination fee as defined in the contract.
10. Insurance
Refined Home Remodeling maintains general liability insurance of $2,000,000 and workers' compensation coverage on all employees and subcontractors. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
11. Intellectual Property
All designs, drawings, renderings, and documentation prepared by Refined Home Remodeling remain our intellectual property until full payment is received. Upon final payment, the client receives a non-exclusive license to use the designs for the specific project.
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, supply chain disruptions, labor disputes, and governmental actions. We will notify the client promptly and adjust the schedule accordingly.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be submitted to binding arbitration in Fairfield County, Connecticut, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
14. Website Use
You agree to use our website lawfully and not to: submit false or misleading information; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; transmit viruses or malicious code; or scrape, copy, or republish content without written permission. We may modify or discontinue any aspect of the website at any time without notice.
